How do anonymous links differ from registered custom links?
Anonymous links are free, quick, generated automatically with a random 7-character code, and can have an optional expiry time. Registered custom links let you select a project workspace namespace (e.g. `sandbox`) and specify a highly-descriptive slug name (e.g. `domain/sandbox/launch`) which elevates authority and trust in shares.
Is client visitor redirection slow?
No! Our core redirect engines resolve short links in under 50ms. Resolving links server-side using efficient database lookups means the user is redirected via an immediate `302 Found` HTTP status with absolute minimum overhead.
Do you log full visitor IP addresses?
Never. PrettyURL is 100% GDPR-compliant. We create a one-way cryptographic SHA-256 hash of a visitor\'s IP combined with a highly secure server salt. We store only this non-reversible hash in our analytics logs, ensuring we cannot trace it back to an individual user, whilst still accurately separating unique link clicks.
